วันที่ 13 พฤษภาคม 2568 นายเตช บุนนาค เลขาธิการสภากาชาดไทย ส่งมอบเงินบริจาคจากประชาชนไทยเพื่อช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยจากเหตุแผ่นดินไหวในประเทศเมียนมา จำนวน 100,000 ดอลลาร์สหรัฐ หรือประมาณ 3.3 ล้านบาท ให้กับการระดมทุนฉุกเฉินของสหพันธ์สภากาชาดและสภาเสี้ยววงเดือนแดงระหว่างประเทศ (IFRC) โดยมี Mr. Jagan Chapagain เลขาธิการสหพันธ์ฯ เป็นผู้แทนรับมอบ

ทั้งนี้ IFRC มีหน้าที่ช่วยสนับสนุนการทำงานของสภากาชาดเมียนมา โดยมีเป้าหมายในการให้ความช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยจำนวน 100,000 คน โดยพิจารณาจากความรุนแรงของผลกระทบจากแผ่นดินไหว และปัจจัยด้านความเปราะบางในพื้นที่ เช่น การให้ความช่วยเหลือด้านที่พักพิง การตั้งถิ่นฐาน การสนับสนุนการดำรงชีพ การให้เงินช่วยเหลือเบื้องต้น การบริการสุขภาพ น้ำและสุขอนามัย รวมถึงการลดความเสี่ยงจากภัยพิบัติและการปรับตัวของชุมชน

TRCS provides financial assistance through IFRC to earthquake affected people in Myanmar

On 13 May 2025, Mr. Tej Bunnag, Thai Red Cross Society Secretary General, handed over a donation from the people in Thailand worth USD 100,000 (approximately 3.3 million Baht) to aid people affected by the earthquake in Myanmar through the Emergency Appeal of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). In this regard, Mr. Jagan Chapagain, IFRC Secretary General, received the donation on behalf of the Federation.

The IFRC is responsible for supporting the operations of the Myanmar Red Cross Society, with the goal of assisting 100,000 affected people. Assistance is prioritized based on the severity of the impact and vulnerability factors in the affected areas. The operations involve activities such as shelter, settlement, livelihood support, cash assistance, health services, water and sanitation, disaster risk reduction and community adaptation.
